Leigh Is Wheelie Good

I went with our kid, Leigh yesterday to the Wheelie School at York. He had a fun day and learnt quite a bit of stuff about mono-wheeling in a safe manner. The school was run by Ashley Mark and he runs it a good relaxed way so the 'students' get the most out of it that they can. Have a look at his website at www.stuntxtreme.com for more info.

Wider Rim Sir ?

Thanks to Tony and Ann Young of MCM (http://www.motorcyclemachining.co.uk/) for sorting out our rear wheels. We needed a 5" rear wheel rather than the standard 4.5" to allow us to use our preferred tyre of choice the Dunlop 165 Slicks. To do this we needed our wheels machining slightly to allow them to fit into the Versys swingarm. As you can now see all fits perfectly.

Rearsets Are Sorted

We have been working with Pete Thornton of Cadmatic Engineering Services (http://www.cadmatic.co.uk/) to get these rearsets you see here sorted. These are the prototype pre-production items and as you can see they are already looking good. The finished items will have a rebate in the backing plate and also be anodised black. As soon as these are done I will post a picture so you can see the finished article. If you are interested in purchasing a set of these from Pete or some of his rearsets for SV650's or ZXR400's then give him a call on 01635 582200. He sells all the parts seperately as well which makes it a lot cheaper if you have a spill.

Pipe Dreams

Thanks to Dave Marshall and the guys at Milltek Sport (www.millteksport.com) for making us these fantastic looking downpipes for the Kawasaki GP2 bike to our requested dimensions. We wanted to move away from the underslung silencer as we believe this to be a compromise for asthetics, something a race bike needs more is function. Fingers crossed they perform as well as they look.

First Ride On The Warrs Harley Davidson XR1200

Myself and Rob took a ride down to London on Wednesday to collect the Harley Davidson XR1200 from Warrs. It was good to finally meet John and Martyn. On the way home we had our first outing on the bike at Snetterton. Whilst there one of our friends Mike Edwards was there instructing one of his clients and managed to capture some footage from his onboard cameras for us. Thanks to Jennifer for quickly putting it on a disc for us to bring home. Hopefully it will give you all a little bit of insight into what the Harley is like to ride.
